In terms of the difference with its namesake predecessor, the biggest difference lie in the look of the device. There has been change to the basic aesthetics of the device and the new one adheres to the design ideas that LG has been using in its current budget segment phones. The new design is more rounded with edges melding in the screen compared to the previous boxy design.
The display size of the smartphone is still the same at 5.5-inches and in terms of the specs the new version is only slightly better than the previous one.
LG X5 (2018) features, specifications
The new LG X5 (2018) features a a new octa-core MediaTek processor beneath its 5.5-inch display along with larger internal memory of 32GB. But there seems to no difference in terms of the RAM capacity of the device which remains the same at 2GB.
The cameras of the device have not got a bump either, and remain the same with a 5-megapixel front sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor for the rear camera. But there are other differences this time and those include Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box and a battery of 4,500mAh which is much bigger than the 2,800mAh battery that was used in the previous device.
