Generally, Samsung provides (at least) two major OS upgrades to its top-tier smartphones. As such, we can expect Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8+ to get Android Pie (overlaid with the newest version of Samsung s Experience UX, of course). As far as the mid-range A-series is concerned, smartphones like Galaxy A8, Galaxy A8+, Galaxy A8 Star, and Galaxy A7 are quite likely to get the newest version of Android as well.
Nokia (HMD Global)
If timely updates are something that you value, HMD Global s devices should be among your first choice(s). Ever since the Finnish company resurrected the iconic brand, it has launched a slew of smartphones, all running stock Android. Even better, all the newer Nokia handsets are Android One-certified, which means timely updates. Back in August, HMD Global announced that all its smartphones will get Android Pie. This means Nokia 1, Nokia 2, Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 8, and Nokia 8 Sirocco will all get the latest flavor of Android eventually. In fact, Nokia 7 Plus is already on Android Pie.
Having taken the smartphone market (especially in India) by storm with its affordable and feature-packed devices, Xiaomi isn t exactly the fastest when it comes to updates. The primary reason for this is the company s MIUI custom overlay, whose upgrades it seems to prioritize over Android updates. Nonetheless, a whole bunch of Xiaomi smartphones are expected to receive Android Pie, with the companion MIUI 10 in tow. These include Mi Mix 2s, Mi Mix 2, Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi Max 3, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 Pro, Mi Max 2, and Black Shark. The Android One-certified Mi A1 and Mi A2, as well as the newly-launched Poco F1 are also confirmed to get Android Pie.

Huawei / Honor
Huawei and its sub-brand Honor have been on a roll this year, launching more smartphones than you can shake a stick at. At this year s IFA conference in Berlin, the Chinese technology major announced the beta program for EMUI 9.0, the latest version of its custom UI overlay, which is based on Android Pie. The beta program is nearing completion, so we can expect a bunch of Huawei/Honor smartphones to get the latest flavor of Android soon. Some devices that will get Android Pie (as well as EMUI 9.) are Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20, P20 Pro, Honor 10, Honor View 10, and Honor Play. Some mid-range smartphones like P20 Lite, Honor 9N, and Honor 9 Lite may also get the update, but there s no surety of that.
Even if they don t sell as well as they should, there s no denying the fact that LG s flagship smartphones are some of the best money can buy. Updates, however, are another story altogether, and the company is notorious for taking a lot of time to update its smartphones. As far as the newest Android Pie is concerned, we can expect it to be available for G7 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V30 ThinQ, and G6 (as well as all their versions) eventually.
All eyes are on OnePlus these days, as the company plans to launch OnePlus 6T, the newest in its line-up of flagship killer smartphones. OnePlus Oxygen OS is often touted as the best custom flavor of Android, as it includes a bunch of enhancements while keeping the overall experience nearly stock. The company recently started rolling out Android Pie (as Oxygen OS 9.0) for OnePlus 6, and its successor is all but confirmed to boot it out-of-the-box. Older OnePlus smartphones that are in line to get the newest update include OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T, and OnePlus 3.
Like HMD Global, the best thing about getting a Motorola smartphone is the software experience. The Lenovo-owned company keeps things almost 100-percent stock when it comes to Android, whether you buy a smartphone from the budget E line-up or the top-of-the-line Z series. Coming to Android Pie, it ll be available for Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto G6 Plus, Moto X4, Moto Z2 Play, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z3 Play, and Moto Z3. The recently-launched Motorola One Power, which is the company s first Android One-certified smartphone, will soon get Android Pie as well.
It s impossible to talk about Android and not mention its developer Google. The California-based technology behemoth will soon launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagship smartphones, and these will obviously run Android Pie out-of-the-box. Google s smartphones are always the first in line to get the newest flavors of Android, and previous-generation Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, and Pixel XL have already received Android Pie.
Taiwan-based Asus really made things difficult for OnePlus, when it launched the flagship-grade Zenfone 5Z at highly-competitive price, earlier this year. The top-of-the-line smartphone will be among the first of Asus smartphones to get Android Pie. In addition, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1), which is the company s first smartphone to run stock Android, was recently confirmed to get Android Pie soon.
It may not be that popular in the smartphone world as it once used to be, but Sony is not going anywhere. Renowned for its Xperia range, the Japanese company is very much active in the smartphone business. Some Sony smartphones that are in line to get Android Pie include Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia XA2 Plus. The brand-new Xperia XZ3, which the company unveiled at this year s IFA technology conference, already runs Android Pie out-of-the-box.

Oppo / Realme
When it comes to the price-conscious Indian smartphone market, Oppo is a force to be reckoned with. Just a few months back, the Chinese brand spun off a new sub-brand Realme which now operates as an independent company. Just like its parent company, Realme has stormed the market with as many as four smartphone launches in a little over three months. There hasn t been an announcement regarding Android Pie rollout schedule yet, but we can expect Find X, F9 Pro, F9, Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme C1 to all get updated to the latest version of Android soon. That update, however, will have the newest build of Color OS running on top of it.
Part of the same parent company as Oppo and OnePlus, Vivo is another Chinese brand that has found huge success in India, primarily due to aggressive marketing and great offline presence. Vivo too hasn t said much about its Android Pie rollout schedule, but we can expect flagships like NEX, V11 Pro, as well as mid-rangers such as V9 Pro to get the update. Obviously, that update will come with the newest version of Funtouch OS, Vivo s custom UI overlay, baked on top.
