Xiaomi had announced the release of it’s MIUI 10 platform for all its phones back in May 31 along with a brief timeline of when it might hit the devices in China. And according to the official post by the Chinese smartphone giant on its MIUI forum, the China ROMs of MIUI 10 started rolling out on June 1. Following this the global ROM of MIUI 10 was launched by Xiaomi India’s Vice President and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain in Delhi along with the Redmi Y2 on June 7 and started rolling out the same day.
Though the ROM from Xiaomi is available for only select smartphones that have opted for the beta program, the phones are eligible for MIUI 10 Beta Global ROM are Mi MIX 2, Mi 6, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5s, Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi Note 2, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Redmi Note 5 India, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 5A Prime, Redmi Note 4 MTK, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3S, Redmi Y2, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y1.
Xiaomi’s latest ROM comes with plenty of design changes. However, the focus has been more on AI integration. One of the key new features of the ROM is the AI Portrait mode. Xiaomi claims that it can enhance Bokeh images, regardless of you working with single or dual cameras.
There is also said to be an AI Preload feature, which analyses your app usage pattern and reduces loading times, in order to make the experience more seamless. Other features of the ROM include navigational gestures, a driving mode and support for smart home devices.
