macOS High Sierra features

With the new desktop operating system, Apple is focusing on boosting performance to ensure utmost productivity. Among the key changes, Apple has switched to a new file system, called Apple File System (APFS). The Cupertino giant has optimized the new file system for flash / SSD storage on Macs. Apple further mentioned that it has been optimized for both security and encryption.

macOS High Sierra also enables High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), which enables users to watch high-quality 4K videos that consume up to 40 percent less storage space compared to the existing H.264 standard. The new operating system also adds support for VR content creation, enabling developers to create immersive gaming, VR and 3D content on Mac.

The Photos app has also been updated with an always-on sidebar, new filtering and selection tools for quick and easy photo organization. Apple has also added editing tools such as Curves to let you fine-tune the contrast, and Selective Color for making adjustments to a specific color range.

Lastly, Apple has also added some nifty tools to the Safari browser. It can now stop those annoying auto-playing videos and audio in the browser. There is also a reader mode that opens articles in an uncluttered format, without those annoying ads. What you get is clean text and multimedia, for a nice reading experience.

We have been using the macOS High Sierra since the early beta launch, and it has been pretty impressive so far. If you own a Mac, MacBook or a Mac mini, go ahead and update it to the latest operating system, and do let us know what you feel about it in the comments section below.
