Users on Nokia’s Asha phones will now be able to access the Mail for Exchange mails via the app for the same in the Nokia Store. The app is compatible with the Nokia Asha 311, Asha 310, Asha 309 and Asha 308, and can be used to send and receive office e-mails on their mobile phones. The Mail to Exchange applications allows users to sync their email, calendar and contacts data with Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 Servers and Microsoft Office 365 Mobility Online Service. The company believes that the induction of the app on the Asha phones will help users access their official mails even on the go, and thus make the phone more user friendly. Hence also adding credence to the Asha platform as an smartphone platform, something cynics have always argued against.
In addition to this app, Nokia has also introduced applications like Editori text and sheet which will further enhance the usability for the Mail to Exchange application. It will be compatible with the Microsoft Word and Excel documents and will let users view and edit these documents. Some of the app features will include text formatting to change the text mode. Moreover, this will recognize hyperlinks, will let users to view pictures and tables, and save and share documents or spreadsheets on the memory card.
