It seems BlackBerry services are down for most users in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe. Twitter is currently filled with users complaining about the outage. We have reached out to Research In Motion for a statement and will update this post as and when we hear more about it. UPDATE: Official statement from RIM: Also Read - BlackBerry services face outage, now being restored
We are working to resolve an issue currently impacting some BlackBerry subscribers in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. We’re investigating, and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused whilst this is resolved.
UPDATE: RIM has finally managed to resolve the issue.
UPDATE: Vodafone Egypt has confirmed a BlackBerry outage resulting from RIM’s side.
UPDATE 2: Etisalat UAE too confirms the outage.
UPDATE 3: Seems like carriers in the Middle East are the only ones responding to the outage, though we are hearing woes from users in India, across Europe and Africa.
UPDATE 4: The Telegraph confirms the outage and our initial analysis that it is affecting BlackBerry users across Europe, Asia and Africa. The problem seems to be a glitch at RIM’s data center in Slough.
RIM’s services have been down for more than three hours now and surprisingly we have not heard a word from the company, yet.
UPDATE 5: Vodacom has posted a statement from RIM on its Facebook page.
