Or there is a massive water leak in your house. The sensor could come in handy in these cases. The sensor can be used in a variety of places inside the house such as the kitchen or the bathroom. Do note that the MIJIA Aqara Flood sensor does not prevent the house from getting flooded, but just alerts you like a regular alarm.
The Aqara Flood Sensor has a diameter of 50mm and density of 15mm. The device alerts with light and sound when the water level reaches above 0.5mm. Once the alarm goes off, the sensor sends you a notification directly to your smartphone. The sensor, if placed within a certain distance to a water outlet in the house, can turn it off as well, however, the catch is the outlet has to be an electromagnetic one, GizmoChina reports.
