After taking wraps off the Google Glass Explorer Edition in 2013, the search engine giant announced a new version for business use in July, earlier this year in July. Dubbed as Enterprise Edition, photos and hardware details about the new Google Glass version have surfaced online, thanks to FCC documents. For those who though that Google Glass project was dead, the leak breathes a new life to one of Google’s most ambitious hardware projects. Although the documents and photos have surfaced, it is important to note that Google hasn t made any official announcement yet.
A previous report from the Wall Street Journal had listed some of the alleged features of the new Enterprise Edition of Google Glass. It s expected to be powered by Intel s Atom processor, improved wireless connectivity with bandwidth of 5GHz over Wi-Fi, and improved battery life along with better performance and heat management.

The Enterprise Edition boasts a new folding design to stow away and carry with ease. The placement of power button has also been changed, it now moved towards the back of the device.
It is important to note that the Enterprise Edition is not slated for public release; instead, Google is only targeting Glass for Work startups. Some reports also mention that these Glasses will ship with proprietary software out-of-the-box. Details on pricing and availability aren t available as yet, but we expect to hear more from Google in the coming months.
