Meizu is building a lot of anticipation around the Meizu 16, which it possibly plans to launch in August. In the last few months, the company founder, Jack Wong has been revealing features of the flagship smartphone one-by-one. Till now, we know that the smartphone will be coming with Snapdragon 845 SoC, and will boast a full screen display. Now, the founder has hinted at the phone featuring a pressure sensitive home button, like the one seen on Samsung Galaxy S8 last year.

The details of the feature were posted on a Chinese website called My Drivers. The post reveals that home button will be incorporated with Meizu’s mBack gestures. It will carry simple functionality, where a simple tap on the home button will take you back in an application, while pressing the button harder will take you back to the homescreen. Beyond that, it could also let you assign shortcuts for simple left and right gestures on the home button. The feature was introduced with the more affordable Meizu M6S.

Based on previous rumors, we know that Meizu is planning on releasing two variants for the smartphone called Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus. The former is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC, while the latter will be coming with Snapdragon 845 SoC. The Meizu 16 is expected to come with 6GB of RAM with storage options of 64GB and 128GB, while the Meizu 16 Plus comes with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

The Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus are also expected to come with full screen notch-less OLED screens of 5.6-inch and 6.1-inch respectively. To keep things ticking, the Meizu 16 is suggested to come with a 3,080mAh battery and the Meizu 16 Plus could come with a bigger 3,6000mAh battery. Both devices are expected to run on the Flyme OS skin. However, there isn’t any certainty of the UI being based on Android Oreo or Android Nougat. We can expect future rumors to clear that doubt.
