Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is all set the launch its smartphones in the Indian market after a brief lull. The company is gearing up for a launch event in the Indian market today. As previously reported, all hints indicate that the company is set to launch its “16th flagship” smartphone, which is likely to be called Meizu 16th. Though, we are not clear about the exact name of the device as some reports have indicated that the device may be known as M16 or Meizu 16. The company has been teasing the launch event on its official Twitter handle for India.

According to Gadgets360, it looks like the company may launch more than one smartphone at the launch event along with the Meizu 16th. As indicated in the report, the company is likely to launch the Meizu M6T and the Meizu C9 to offer options to users from different price segments. The company has not officially confirmed the reports about multiple smartphone launches at the event.

The teaser tweets by the company indicate that the company will live stream the event on its official Facebook and YouTube pages. However, the live stream links for the event have not gone live at the time of writing. We will update the post with the links as soon as they are up. According to the report, the company is expected to launch the devices as an Amazon Exclusive.

Meizu 16th expected pricing and specifications

It is worth noting that the company has already launched all three rumored devices in the Chinese market. According to the details from the Chinese website, we can guess-estimate the possible pricing of the devices in the Indian market. According to the report, Meizu may launch its 16th device at about Rs 27,000 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Other devices including the rumored Meizu 6T and C9 are expected to be priced at around Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000.

Specifications, features

According to the specifications on the Meizu website, the top-end Meizu 16 sports a 6-inch FHD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with Super AMOLED panel and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. Talking about other specifications of the device, the device features a dual-camera setup on the back of the device with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and 20-megapixel secondary sensor.

Moving to the front of the device, it comes with a 20-megapixel camera sensor on the front. On the software side of things, Meizu has added Android 8.0 Oreo-based Flyme OS as the device runs on a 3,010mAh battery with mCharge fast charging technology. Teasers also indicate that the device is likely to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Meizu 6T is likely to pack a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio while running on MediaTek MT6750 SoC with up to 4GB RAM. One the camera end of things it is likely to pack a dual camera setup on the back with 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor on the back of the device. The front will come with an 8-megapixel camera sensor while the device runs on a 3,300mAh battery with Android 7.0 Nougat-based Flyme OS 6.2.

Last but not least, Meizu C9 will feature a 5.45-inch HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 128GB in capacity. C9 will come with a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies while running on a 3,000mAh battery. According to the Amazon listing that was spotted before the launch, the device is likely to run a stock version of Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
