After the launch of the Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus, the Chinese company has now launched a new smartphone in its home country. The new Meizu 16X comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC.

The Meizu 16X has been launched with a price tag of RMB 2,100, which roughly translates to Rs 22,200. It is currently up for pre-orders on Meizu’s website and JD.com. The device is set to start shipping next week from September 26. Buyers will be able to choose from black, white, and gold colors.

Meizu hasn’t revealed all the specifications and features of the new smartphone. But these were confirmed by a recent TENAA listing. The highlight of the smartphone is no doubt the in-display fingerprint sensor. So far we have seen the feature on Vivo’s smartphones, and very recently Xiaomi.

The Meizu 16X flaunts a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. There is also 6GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage. For photography, the device is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back that includes a combination of 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors. For selfies, there’s a 20-megapixel front camera.
The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, and comes with the usual bevy of connectivity options. On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based FlymeOS out-of-the-box. On paper, the Meizu 16X and the Meizu 16 share a lot of specifications and features. The only major differentiator is the Snapdragon 710 SoC.
