China-based Meizu doesn t have an extensive presence in India, but it is quite active in its home market with frequent product launches. The company is now gearing up for another smartphone launch in China. It has reportedly sent out invites for an April 26 event, where it will unveil the Meizu E2. Earlier, there were rumors that the company will unveil the Meizu PRO 7 on that day. However, the company in its invitation confirms it will be the Meizu E2. The invite, which features the sketch of the upcoming phone, gives some clues about the smartphone design. According to Androidheadlines, the smartphone has very similar looks to a slew of other Meizu phones that have been launched in the last couple of years. Looking at the sketch closely, you can spot the physical home key on the front and usual rear camera module including LED flash followed by Meizu branding. Currently, there aren t a lot of details about the Meizu E2. Though recently a new smartphone was listed on TENAA certification website. Codenamed Meizu M612C, the smartphone is believed to be the Meizu E2. According to the TENAA listing, the smartphone will run a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It will be available in different variants depending upon RAM size and internal storage. The variants are 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage variant. For photography, the Meizu M612C will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is kind of a bummer considering a range of new devices are running the latest Android Nougat OS out-of-the-box.
While Meizu has confirmed it will be launching the E2, there have been speculations about the flagship smartphone, Meizu PRO 7. According to rumors thus far, the smartphone will have a smaller display than 5.5-inch. It is worth mentioning here that the PRO 6 has a 5.2-inch full HD display.
Other expected features of the Meizu PRO 7 include 4GB of RAM, MediaTek s Helio X30 64-bit deca-core processor and 32GB of internal storage. It has been rumored to be officially announced by end of this month. It may be possible that Meizu may unveil the PRO 7 along with the E2.
