Spotted on Weibo, the leaked image shows off the back of the device, which appears to sport a dual-camera setup. From the image it can also be made out that the new Meizu smartphone could be cased in a unibody metal finished design. The color option revealed in the leaked image is gold. We also notice two antenna stripes running across the top and bottom edges of the back of the device. Although just beneath the camera module, there s a tiny black fitting we see, which ideally should be an LED flash, but it doesn t resemble the usual LED modules. It might just be an autofocus or laser focus module.
In comparison, last year s Meizu E2 had a fingerprint sensor embedded in the front-facing home or mBack button. This is usually the case with Meizu smartphones equipped with this type of technology, so presumably the same will apply to the alleged upcoming Meizu E3 as well.
Contradictorily, there are also some reports, which suggest that Meizu could ditch the mBack button for some of its upcoming smartphone models.
While that s mostly what s revealed in the latest leak, Meizu E3 is believed to come with some significant updates over its predecessor. The Meizu E2 features a 5.5-inch 16:9 display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixel. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 chipset paired with a Mali-T880MP2 graphics chip and 2GB, 3GB, or 4GB of RAM depending on the on-board storage configuration.
