Meizu will start selling its first smartphone, the M1 Note, in India tomorrow. However, if the rumor mill is supposed to be believed, it is already planning to announce the M1 Note’s successor, the M1 Note 2 in China on June 2. Interestingly, the M1 Note was launched in China a couple of months ago, which would indicate a hyperactive product roadmap.
The Chinese smartphone maker is hosting a press conference in Beijing on June 2 and leaked photos of an alleged M1 Note 2 have emerged posing next to the MX4 Pro. If the rumor mills are to be believed, the M1 Note 2 will be equipped by a fingerprint scanner in the physical button. On the contrary, GSMArena
points out that the software doesn’t hint at a fingerprint scanner at all and the newly designed home button might merely be a design overhaul.
The smartphone in question seems to be running Meizu’s Flyme OS based on Android Lollipop 5.1. The leaks further offers some clarity on the pricing and says the Meizu M1 Note 2 will cost $161 which will roughly translate to Rs 10,304. Meizu has not yet announced the price of the M1 Note in India, which goes on sale exclusively via Amazon.
