Meizu had sent out invites for an event which was to be held today. In their invites came a once popular Nokia E71 handset which left people confused with what the company is trying to hint at. It was though expected that the company would be launching a phablet and today, Meizu launched the M3 Max in China. Featuring a 6-inch display, the Meizu M3 Max is priced at Rs 1699 Yuan (Rs 16,914 approximately) and currently there is only on variant of the phablet. The Meizu M3 Max will go on sale from September 15 in China and the registrations for the phablet have already begun from today. The phablet is available in four colors namely Champagne Gold, Gray, Silver and Rose Gold. Also Read - OnePlus, Realme, Black Shark, Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo, Vivo to get unified P2P sharing platform

Measuring 7.9mm in thickness, the Meizu M3 Max looks pretty similar like the Meizu M3E, which was launched in China last month. The new Meizu phablet comes with USB Type-C support and also features a fingerprint which is embedded in the home button below the display. Meizu had also launched two smartphones in its U series called the U10 and U20. The smartphones were both launched in China. As mentioned above, the Meizu M3E was launched in China in August that came with similar features. Despite a long string of recent launches in China, there isn t any news if Meizu will launch the M3 Max in India or other markets for that matter.

Meizu M3 Max specifications

The Meizu M3 Max features a 6-inch full HD display with 1080p resolution. Under the hood runs a Helio P10 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. The phablet comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. On the photography front, the phablet sports a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and dual LED flash, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM (Hybrid SIM slot), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port and Bluetooth. The Meizu M3 Max runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Flyme OS 5.2. It is powered by a 4,100mAh battery with 24W mCharge fast charging technology which reportedly charges up to 45 percent in an hour.

Starting at a price of Rs 14,999 Xiaomi s Mi Max flaunts a 6.44-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Xiaomi s Mi Max sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with beautify 85-degrees wide-angle selfie camera. It is powered by a 4,850mAh battery with Qualcomm s Quick Charge support. The Mi Max also supports 4G VoLTE. The phablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8. Under the hood runs a 1.5 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage which is further expandable up to 200GB.
