After Meizu M5 Note was launched just earlier this month, a new Meizu smartphone has surfaced online. The smartphone has been cleared by mobile certification website TENAA. The smartphone in question was spotted in two different listings, as M612Q and M612M, both of which reveal exactly the same specifications. The device is expected to be the Meizu M5S. The leaked image of the alleged Meiz M5S, spotted by GSMArena, reveals the front and back panel of the smartphone. The picture of the face of the phone shows a home button with a fingerprint sensor, and the rear of the phone reveals a camera with an LED flash sitting right under it. At the back, you can also notice antennae lines running along the top and bottom edges of the phone. Over all the leaked image of the phone is quite close to what Meizu M5 Note looks like. Meizu M5S specifications, features
Besides TENAA, the M5S is said to have also passed what’s known as China Compulsory Certification (3C), which has revealed a table of specifications of the purported phone. The table reveals that the Meizu M5S will be powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core processor, and feature a 5.2-inch HD screen. RAM options could include 2/3/4GB, while internal memory options include 16/32/64GB. In terms of camera, the handset would sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter.
Weighing in at 138 grams and measuring 148.2 72.53 8.4mm, the device would run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be fuelled by a 2,930mAh battery. Similar to the Meizu M5 Note, the smartphone will come in color variants like silver gray, gold, and rose gold. As the name suggests, the Meizu M5S would be the successor of the Meizu M5, which was launched earlier in November. The Meizu M5 was launched in China in two variants – 2GB RAM/16GB and 3GB RAM/32GB. The one with 2GB of RAM is priced at RMB 700 (approximately Rs 6,800), while the 3GB variant will be available for RMB 900 (approximately Rs 8,800). Considering the price range of the Meizu M5, the Meizu M5S can also be expected in the similar price segment.
The Meizu M5 features dimensions of 147.28 72.8x8mm, and weighs 138 grams. The smartphone features 5.2-inch HD (720 1280 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with a 282ppi. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor paired with Mali T860 GPU. The 16GB and 32GB storage options can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and 5P Lens. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4P Lens for selfies. The device is armed with a 3,070mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to offer 66 hours of music playback.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with hybrid dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS support. Talking about the software, Meizu M5 runs Yun OS 5.1 with FlyMe UI 5.5 layered on top which means the company has ditched stock Android, so one of the main drawbacks will be that users won t be able to access the Google Play Store.
