Meizu M8c with 18:9 display, face unlock feature launched: Price, specifications, features

Meizu M8c is the successor to the M5c, which was launched in May last year.

Meizu has quietly launched a new smartphone in Russia, dubbed M8c. It is essentially the successor to the Meizu M5c, which was launched exactly an year back. Meizu s new smartphone is in line with the current trends. It comes with features like a tall display boasting 18:9 aspect ratio, and face unlock security feature. The M8c has been launched in Russia with a price tag of RUB 9,990 (Rs 11,000 approximately). Buyers will be able to choose from red, gold, blue, and black colors. There is however no word on when Meizu plans on launching the smartphone in other markets, including India.

Meizu M8c specifications, features

As far as specifications are concerned, the M8c sports a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440×720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB storage. The onboard storage can be expanded using a microSD card.

For photography, Meizu s smartphone features a 13-megapixel snapper at the back with f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture. Making sure everything ticks is a 3,070mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.

The Meizu M8c is clearly a big upgrade over its predecessor, the M5c. It was launched with features like 5-inch HD display, 64-bit quad-core SoC, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. The rest of the features included an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.
