Meizu Note8 is officially set to launch at the Beijing Performing Arts Center in China on October 25. The Chinese handset maker confirmed the date through a poster shared on Meizu’s official account on Weibo, China’s microblogging platform. Coincidentally, Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 with a sliding camera is set to launch on the same day in China. The teaser campaign (via GSMArena) that mimics that the “falling star challenge” which went viral last month on Instagram. Other promotional images show people wearing a photographer’s vest with several pockets. That aligns with the Note8’s invite acrostic which translates to National Optical Technology Expert. Meizu Note8: Specifications and Expected Price
The Meizu Note 6 collected quite a few accolades for its 12-megapixel+5-megapixel camera setup. So the teaser campaign points towards the Note8 as a smartphone for the photography experts.
Recently, Meizu phone with model number M822Q stopped by at TENAA, China’s telecom equipment authority site. The listing states that the Meizu M822Q features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with an IPS LCD panel and sports a 2160×1080 pixel resolution indicating an 18:9 aspect ratio support.
The Meizu M822Q will house an octa-core 1.8GHz mobile processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone will pack 64GB storage which will be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
There is no mention of the camera sensors in the phone’s TENAA listing. However, the image of the Meizu M822Q’s backside matches with the one held by the lady in the teaser poster.
The Meizu Note8’s teaser image and the TENAA listing confirms that the phone indeed sports a dual camera with two-tone dual LED flash and a fingerprint sensor at the back. If the TENAA listing is to be believed, then the Meizu Note 8 will pack the same 12-megapixel+5-megapixel dual rear camera combination. There will be an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
The Meizu Note8 will run the FlymeOS based on the Android 8.1 Oreo. The M822G measures 153.64×75.56×7.5 in terms of dimensions and will weigh 168 grams. It would be safe to expect the phone in an aluminum unibody.
Meizu will pack a 3,500 mAh battery and will come in Black, Red, Blue, and Purple color options. From the specifications fo the M822Q and the legacy of M Note series so far, the Meizu Note8 could be a mid-ranger. While the pricing is still under wraps, we will get to know that next week.
