Multiple leaks have established that the Meizu Pro 7 will come with a secondary rear LCD display. Image leaks have shown a tiny display right under the dual rear setup on the smartphone. And while previous leaks showed a version of Pac-Man game played on the secondary display, many hoped for a selfie functionality with the rear cameras. The most recent leak comes from a tipster in China where images uploaded on Weibo show the user clicking selfies using the secondary display. Clearly, the feature will be a part of the Meizu Pro 7. As the smartphone is known to come with the dual rear camera setup, the primary camera selfie feature might also enable ‘Bokeh selfies’. The smartphone will also come with a front camera. Apart from the selfie feature using the primary camera, the leak also shows some other functions reflected on the rear display. Interestingly, the rear display too comes with bezels and is not simply placed into the rear panel. The bezels are quite chunky, reducing the size of the display further. Though the display can be used for texting, accessing mails and a lot of other features, it might be uncomfortable to type on such a small screen. The feature can be used for quick one-hand typing though. The exact specifications of the display when it comes to the size and the resolution are still unknown. The leaks peg the display to be around 2-inch. The main display, on the other hand, is likely to be a 5.2-inch FHD display. MediaTek recently accidentally revealed that the smartphone will come with a Helio X30 SoC coupled with 4GB or 6GB RAM. Other features and specifications are unknown. The one thing the smartphone is expected to feature is a beefed up battery as it featured dual displays, a primary AMOLED one and a secondary LCD display.
The smartphone is expected to arrive on July 26 though the invites are yet to start rolling. Meizu has not teased the smartphone either, leaving the details only to leaks. Meizu is also expected to announce the Meizu Pro 7 Plus along with the Meizu Pro 7. The Meizu Pro 7 Plus will most likely be a larger version of the Meizu Pro 7. Meizu might restrict the secondary display only to the larger device though all leaks suggest that both smartphones come with a similar functionality. Meizu is soon expected to roll out teasers and event invites for the Meizu Pro 7.
