Earlier today a set of presentation slides surfaced online allegedly revealing specifications and features of the Xiaomi Mi 5. With less than a week to the launch event, the features revealed on the slides were in line with earlier leaks. Xiaomi has however responded to this leak saying that the presentation slides were fake. A Xiaomi spokesperson reached out to BGR India saying, “Wanted to clarify that this is a fake presentation, and didn’t come from us. We can’t say too much about Mi 5 at the moment.” Also Read - Best wearable gift ideas under Rs 5,000 for Father's Day 2021Also Read - Another Xiaomi folding phone set to launch after October with Mi MIX Fold specs
It’s hardly surprising that Xiaomi has come out and said that the specifications and features revealed on the slides were fake. That however doesn’t mean that at least some of the information wasn’t accurate. Features like Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 1080p display and NFC have already been confirmed by Xiaomi before. We have already come across some camera samples shared by Xiaomi’s executives before and they have been impressive. It would be interesting to see if the Mi 5 actually features a 26-megapixel camera with a f/1.6 aperture, as was revealed on the presentation slides.
Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications and features: Xiaomi is believed to be launching multiple variants of the Mi 5, with two of them differentiated by their design one in metal and another with a 2.5D curved glass on the back and front. There have also been rumors about a 5.7-inch Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus, as well as a Windows 10 variant.
The upcoming smartphone is also expected to feature a 3,600mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, IR Blaster, fingerprint scanner, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, and 4G LTE support.
Xiaomi will be unveiling the Mi 5 smartphone at events in Beijing and MWC in Barcelona on February 24. Stay tuned for updates!
