Micromax’s next-in line Canvas smartphone is set for launch and if the latest leak is any testimony, it is set to be quite different from its predecessor. As per DroidGoblin, the Canvas 5 will be the first smartphone in the company’s portfolio to run on CynagenMod, and will be launched later this year below the Rs 22,000 price point.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Canvas 5 will reportedly flaunt a 5-inch full HD display and will be powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Additionally, it is also likely to feature 16GB internal storage, microSD card support, 18-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone will run on CyanogenMod (based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat) out of the box. CyanogenMod is a popular custom ROM for Android devices that has recorded over 12 million active installs on a multitude of devices till June 2014. As mentioned above, the smartphone is likely to be priced below Rs 22,000.
