As we reported yesterday, the Micromax Canvas HD is launching tomorrow which also happens to be Valentines day. But the surprise is the price, earlier Micromax indicated that it would launch for Rs 14,990, but now it seems they have further sweetened the deal at Rs 13,990. According to the company the device can be purchased directly from Micromaxinfo.com, but consumers will need to wait for a minimum of five days to get their hands on the device. The Canvas HD is a big deal because it offers a 5-inch 720p display and a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor in a package that’s way below Rs 15,000. That said, the CPU used in the Canvas HD is based on the ARM A7 architecture so it may not match the performance of ARM A9 based quad-core chipsets that we find in devices like the Samsung Galaxy S III. Additionally, it packs a 8-megapixel camera, a 2,000 mAh battery, will support 3G connections, and will have a microSD card slot. It will also run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Also Read - UMI X2 launched in India for Rs 14,000, comes with 5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM and 13-megapixel camera
Needless to say, when one takes into account the combined might of the feature set and value for money quotient, it is a very anticipated device. But as we always say the proof of the pudding will be in the tasting, so watch out for our review.
