Both the smartphones flaunt a 5-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Where the Moto G s display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the Canvas Nitro s display has an Oleophobic coating to protect the display against fingerprints.
The biggest difference is the processor. The Canvas Nitro is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek 6592 octa-core processor, while the Moto G is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. The processor on the former is paired with 2GB of RAM, while the processor on the latter is paired with 1GB of RAM.
The Moto G is ahead with 16GB internal space, while the Canvas Nitro features 8GB internal memory. Both the smartphones however have a microSD card slot to expand the memory.
Canvas Nitro has a better combination of cameras with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Moto G, in comparison, features an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera on the Canvas Nitro also has a bunch of new camera features. We will however wait till we review both the smartphones to pass our judgment on which smartphone has the better set of cameras.
Micromax offers a better battery than Motorola. The Canvas Nitro packs a 2,500mAh battery while Moto G has a 2,070mAh battery.
Both the smartphones run on Android KitKat. But as you would expect, Motorola s smartphone runs on the latest 4.4.4 KitKat with an almost stock Android experience.
The Moto G has a nano coating on the inside as well as outside to protect the phone from an accidental splash of water. Micromax s smartphone offers no such protection.
The Canvas Nitro A310 and the Moto G are quite closely matched in terms of specifications and features and are identically priced too. We will however reserve our judgment on which is the better smartphone till we have reviewed the smartphones.
