Earlier this year, Micromax launched a smartphone aimed at selfie lovers, called the Canvas Selfie. Today, the Indian smartphone vendor has launched yet another smartphone for the same audience, called the Canvas Selfie Lens. The addition of the word lens in the nomenclature is because the smartphone comes bundled with a clip-on wide-angle lens. The 0.4X wide angle lens can be attached to either the front or the rear camera to shoot wide photos or videos. Speaking of which, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel camera at the back Sony sensor, Largan lens and LED flash. It is supplemented by a 5-megapixel snapper up front with Largan lens and OV sensor. The camera software is bundled with features like skin smoothening, sharpening and eye enlargement, options to remove eye bags, blemishes and more. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Canvas Selfie Lens sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone also features 2,800mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for nine hours of talktime and up to 374 hours on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The Canvas Selfie Lens is available in White and Champagne, and Moondust Gray color options, and is priced at Rs 8,299. As an introductory offer, Micromax is also offering Vodafone users 500MB of 3G data free for a period of two months.
