Micromax has another smartphone from its Canvas series in the pipeline, expected to soon go official in India. Dubbed as Canvas1, the budget smartphone is said to be priced at Rs 6,999.
According to PhoneRadar, the Micromax Canvas1’s highlights include a dedicated assistive button as seen on Apple iPhone. The dedicated smart button can be assigned to take a picture, long screenshot, turn the flashlight on/off or switch between ring profiles quickly. Also, Canvas1 will offer onboard support for 22 different regional languages, making the smartphone easy access to local Indian consumers.

The Micromax Canvas1 is said to sport a 5-inch HD (720p) display with a 2.5D Sharp IN-CELL display, which is expected to be company’s own iteration of the curved glass layer for protection and premium feel. The display offers 400nits of brightness and outs brighter visuals even under direct sunlight. It is likely to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. For optics, the Canvas1 is said to have an 8-megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, beauty modes and LED flash. On the front is likely to be a 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie snapper coupled with LED flash as well. The rest of the rumored specifications include dual-SIM card slots, a 2,500mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and micro-USB along with OTG (on-the-go) support. On the software front, the Canvas1 is expected to run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
At the rumored price tag, the upcoming Micromax Canvas 1 will face tough competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 4A, Oppo A37, and the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro to name a few.
