In what is a considerable coup, Micromax has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Nazara Technologies, the exclusive partner for gaming behemoth Electronic Arts (EA). Under the agreement,  “try and buy” versions of a number of popular mobile game titles from EA will come embedded on select Micromax handsets.  More than forty titles of the EA catalog including the likes of Need for Speed, EA Cricket 11, Tetris, Harry Potter, GI Joe and Medal of Honor will be available to Micromax consumers. The games will be available to users on a try and buy model where they can play the game free of cost up to five times, and then opt to purchase it for either Rs 49 or Rs 99, depending on its price. Mobile gamers can also access games for as little as Rs 3 for a day long gaming pass. Billing will be enabled through all carrier channels. We have not been told on which handsets these titles will be available yet but we are sure the move will have many mobile gamers thinking about snapping up a Micromax handset, just to get their gaming fix, especially given the fact that they seldom cost the earth!
