Micromax has launched the X259 phone in India for Rs 2,499, which features a Solar back panel. Through the Solar panel, the X259 automatically gets charged through solar power when the back panel is exposed to sunlight. Other features of the device include, a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels, a 1000 mAh battery which gets charged via the solar panel, Dual-Sim capabilities and dual-stand by mode. While the concept of a green phone powered by solar technology seems interesting, but it remains to be seen how good a battery back up the end user will get.
