Micromax, it seems, is set to launch its first-ever waterproof and dustproof device. Leakster @MMXNewscaster revealed a few details about the device, which could be called the Splash.
Details are scarce, but according to the leakster, this new device will boast IP67 certification, which makes it waterproof and dustproof. Users will be able to use the forthcoming smartphone underwater to a maximum of a meter for a period of 30 minutes.
This move could have been triggered by the immense popularity of the Moto G, which is also the first device in this segment to boast nano coating (making it usable in the rains). Micromax though is taking things a step further and with the IP67 certification, brings the kind of protection normally available on Sony’s high-end devices.
