Microsoft has announced the launch of its Selfie 2 smartphone. Priced at Rs 9,999, the smartphone will go on sale from August 1 across retail stores. The smartphone was recently spotted online on the company’s official website though the listing did not entail the price and other key details. Micromax is offering its 100 days replacement warranty scheme with the purchase of Selfie 2 smartphone. As part of the deal, the company will replace the smartphone under any circumstances of hardware damage with a new unit. The 100 days replacement scheme comes as a part of the one year OEM warranty.
As the name suggests, Micromax is betting high on the smartphone’s photography capabilities. The Selfie 2 has an 8-megapixel Sony IM135 front camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED selfie flash. The front snapper can also capture images with Bokeh effect and it also lets you take One Touch Shot for quick capture. On the rear, it has a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, Auto Scene Detection, Panorama mode and SuperPixel image mode which delivers sharper images with reduced noise. Micromax Selfie 2 Features and Specifications
The Micromax Selfie 2 has an all-metal body with a 5.5-inch display layered with 2.5D curved glass on the top. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC clocked at 1.35GHz coupled with a 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. It also has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner which the company claims to be ultra-fast.
The smartphone houses a 3,000mAh battery, said to deliver a standby time of 250 hours, talk time of 11 hours and music playback of up to 22 hours. For connectivity, the Selfie 2 smartphone offers support for Dual SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. The Micromax Selfie 2 faces competition from the likes of Redmi Note 4, Moto C Plus, Yu Yureka Black, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note.
