Micromax has a new smartphone listed on its website without much fanfare, called the Selfie 2. The listing however doesn’t reveal the pricing of the smartphone. As the name suggests, Micromax is clearly focussing on front snapper of the Selfie 2, which is paired with LED flash and is said to deliver bokeh-like effect.
The 8-megapixel selfie snapper has a Sony IM135 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, the front camera brings One Touch Shot for quick capture, and Beauty Mode for improved selfies. The Selfie 2 also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with OV8856 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Auto Scene Detection, and Panorama mode. The primary camera also comes with SuperPixel image mode which lets you click images with as much as 5,200 megapixels.
Micromax has also bundled the smartphone with its 100 days replacement guarantee scheme. As part of the scheme, the company promises to replace the smartphone with the same or equivalent model in the first 100 days from the date of activation of the device in case of any damage. This includes the one year of total warranty period as well. The company announced the 100 days replacement earlier this month
Going by the images listed on the official site, the Selfie 2 smartphone also comes with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner separated from the rear camera with LED flash in between. The smartphone has the antenna band running across the top and the bottom chin of the metal unibody. It also looks like the volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right-hand side of the smartphone. Though the site doesn’t mention, the Micromax Selfie 2 seems to feature a 5.5-inch display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC clocked at 1.35GHz. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD card. The smartphone houses a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box.
