How to upgrade your compatible Lumia smartphone to Windows 10 Mobile
While software updates are usually easy to install from settings and update phone, this time around Microsoft has gone with a slightly different approach. To begin with you’ll need to download an app called Update Advisor from Microsoft’s Windows Store. Open the app, check ‘Enable Windows 10 upgrade’ and tap on Next. It will confirm the device and prompt that its ready to upgrade.
Once the above procedure is done, head over to Settings > Phone Update > Check for updates. Once the over-the-air (OTA) update is available it will prompt you to download. Once the update is downloaded, it will take anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes to complete the upgrade. While you won’t lose any data during the upgrade, we’d recommend you to take a backup of your photos, videos, contacts and other files, just to be on a safer side.
