Microsoft India today announced that Karan Bajwa will be the new Managing Director of its Sales and Marketing Group in India. Bajwa, who is currently the head of Microsoft’s enterprise business in India, will replace Sanket Akerkar, who will move to the US and will continue with Microsoft. Bajwa will take his position in July and will continue to be based at Gurgaon, where he will report to Microsoft India’s Chairman, Bhaskar Pramanik. Announcing the new appointment, Pramanika said, “In the last two and a half years, Sanket has led the organization to greater progress across various areas. Karan is a strong business leader who has always led from the front, and his successes both in Microsoft and prior to that are testimony to this. Besides Akerkar, Floris van Heijst, Microsoft India’s GM of Marketing and Operations too will be moving out at the end of next month. The company is currently still looking for his replacement.
