With the affordable tag, the Lumia 430 will not be setting any specification charts on fire. It features a 4-inch 4-inch WVGA (800 480 pixels) LCD display with a pixel density of 235ppi, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor. The smartphone also features 1GB of RAM, and 8GB onboard memory that can be further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. Additionally it also comes with 30GB free OneDrive cloud storage.
On the photography front, the smartphone comes with a 2-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera, supplemented with a VGA snapper upfront. Furthermore, it also packs a 1,500mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 8.4 hours of talktime, and up to 24 days on standby mode.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim Update. The company has also promised a Windows 10 update. The company has announced a bunch of launch day offers like Rs 3,000 cashback on any transaction via MobiKwik app, Rs 1,500 worth discounts on tickets booked via Redbus, and 500MB of free data per month for a period of two months.
At this price point, the smartphone will face some tough competition from entry-level Android smartphones like the Micromax Canvas Spark, Xiaomi Redmi 1S and the Motorola Moto E (2014) to name a few.
