Microsoft is holding an event on October 6 in New York, where it is widely expected to take wraps off two new smartphones, the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950XL along with the new Surface Pro 4 tablet and the next-gen Microsoft Band. Listed on a Swiss store for $117 (approximately Rs 7,800), the Lumia 550 could be the first affordable Windows Phone with 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone was also discovered on Zauba website in two variants, a single SIM one (RM-1127) and the other with dual SIM (RM-1128). Coming to hardware, the smartphone is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad-core SoC of Cortex-A53 cores paired with Adreno 304 GPU. The smartphone also flaunts a 4.7-inch HD display running at 720×1280 pixel resolution. Also on offer is 8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for further expansion.
The GFX benchmark test detected a 5-megapixel rear camera with support for 720p video recording, a 1.2-megapixel selfie camera. It is also expected to come with 4G LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The details about the RAM are scarce at the moment, but some leaked specifications also point to 1GB of RAM and 5-inch 540×960 pixel screen. The smartphone is expected to run Windows 10 mobile out of the box.
As these are just leaked specifications, take this with a grain of salt. If there at all there is any truth in this leak, we expect more details to pour in.
