Microsoft has just teased the launch of a new phone tomorrow. The device in question is a Nokia branded device, and decoding the tweet, we expect it to be the Lumia 735 that was unveiled in September. The Nokia Lumia 735 has everything similar to the Nokia Lumia 730 that was launched in India in October last year, except that it supports single-SIM and 4G LTE. The tweet gives out hints like the Nokia brand, the wide selfie-cam and the fact that it’s part of the Lumia series. The Lumia 730 was marketed heavily for its ‘wide-selfie’ feature, therefore all fingers point towards the launch of its 4G companion Lumia 735 in India. The Lumia 730 was priced at Rs 15,299, and we expect the 4G variant to be priced a bit higher. As Microsoft has launched its store on Amazon India just last month, the device will launch exclusively on the e-commerce site.
As far as specifications are concerned, the two smartphones, as mentioned above, are nearly identical except that the Lumia 730 supports dual-SIM, while the Lumia 735 supports single-SIM and 4G LTE. The smartphone flaunts a 4.7-inch 720p display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM.
The Lumia 735 includes a 6.7-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, plus 15GB free OneDrive storage, and a 2,220mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim update.
