Microsoft may not have announced anything yet, but it is believed to be hosting a launch event in October. It could unveil the Surface Pro 4, Band 2, and new high-end smartphones namely Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL, reports Chinese site WPDang. With the report later confirmed by The Verge, seems like Microsoft is all set to spring a pleasant surprise during the holiday season. The main focus of this event is expected to be the launch of the Lumia 950, the Lumia 950 XL running on Windows Mobile 10 and the Surface Pro 4. While the specifications of these handsets have already leaked in the past, it will be interesting to see how they look in terms of design and build.
Coming to the Surface Pro 4, it isn t expected to come with any major hardware changes. As per a couple of rumors, the next-gen tablet could be powered by Intel s Skylake processor and will sport a higher resolution display along with larger internal storage.
With the fitness devices market gaining momentum, Microsoft could also introduce the Microsoft Band 2. As of now, there aren t any leaks about the next-gen Microsoft Band, but it should bring some nifty performance improvements over its predecessor.
Microsoft hasn t officially confirmed anything about the October event, so take this information with a proverbial pinch of salt. However, the software giant has a Windows 10 related event lined up at Berlin s IFA 2015 conference, where it could announce further plans.
