Apart from the many Xbox 360 software features Microsoft showcased a lot software material that would be hitting the console in the next twelve months. Among the many games Halo 4 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist stole the stage, as Microsoft not only chose to open the event with an extended demo of Halo 4, but also showed some substantial gameplay from both the games. Microsoft in fact, showed the press a lot of footage from the single player campaign of Halo 4. There were some interesting revelations including a new non organic enemy, new visor modes for the Master Chief, Forerunner weaponry, and the ability to summon the UNSC. Splinter Cell: Blacklist showed super agent Sam Fisher in a brand new avatar with him gaining some super cool tricks and the ability to call out enemies using Kinect Voice commands.
The other big game made by Microsoft itself, was Gears of War: Judgement , but the company only showed off a trailer.
EA also joined in the party to show off some voice based a controls on Madden and Fifa 13 and also demoed some of the new gameplay mechanics in the new iterations of both these award winning franchises.
Another Microsoft game, Forza Horizon was also showcased and it finally received the release date of October 23 2012 at the event.
The new Tomb Raider game was also demoed and the developer left a little nugget for all Xbox 360 owners stating that the first downloadable DLC for the game would hit the console first.
As far as exclusives were concerned, the Xbox 360 received Ascend: The New Gods made by Signal Studios which will hit the console in 2013. On the lighter side of things, A South Park RPG was unveiled called the Stick of truth that would release on March 5, 2013. Finally, the event ended with an extended gameplay demo of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
