Renders of what appears to be the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 have leaked out on the internet giving us a hint of what to expect in terms of the design. This comes weeks after Microsoft sent out media invites for its Surface launch event scheduled to take place on October 2, 2018, in New York City. As previously reported, the company asks for “a moment of your time” and it is likely to launch the next generation of its Surface devices at the event. It is likely that the company may launch new versions of its Microsoft Surface Laptop, Surface Pro lineup, and Surface Studio lineup at the launch event with refreshed hardware.
Refreshed hardware would mean latest 8th generation Intel Core processors along with improved memory and storage options. According to an exclusive report by MySmartPrice, the renders of what appears to be the upcoming Surface Laptop 2 in Black color show us that the design is likely to be same as what we saw in the first generation Surface Laptop. Looking at the ports in the renders, the device is expected to come with a similar port layout with a USB Type-A, a display port, 3.5-mm headphone jack, and a proprietary Surface charging port.
