Microsoft’s next hardware event, where it is expected to launch new Surface devices, is scheduled for October 2. At the event early next month, Microsoft is expected to launch a bunch of new products including second-generation Surface Studio, Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2. While we have not seen a lot of information leak about these new devices, a new leak from a Vietnamese website sheds some more light on Surface Pro 6.
The Surface Pro 6 was not really expected to launch at the event next month but it seems Microsoft has pushed the launch of the device. Microsoft skipped the Surface Pro 5 and launched Surface Pro instead and with Surface Pro 6, the company might be finally bringing some major design changes. However, these new leaked images suggest the Surface Pro 6 won’t be much different from the Surface Pro.
With Surface Pro 6, Microsoft seems to be keeping the externals and instead of planning major upgrades for the internals. The Surface Pro 7, expected next year, could be the biggest design change the company plans to Surface Pro lineup. While Microsoft is keeping the external design same, the edges seem to be more rounded in a way similar to that of Surface Go entry-level device.
The changes also suggest that Microsoft is not dropping traditional ports for newer USB Type-C port. The new Surface Pro 6 is expected to sport newer 8th generation Intel Core CPU and might even include an option to configure it with 6th core processors.

There is also a possibility of Microsoft introducing a new Surface Pen alongside the new Surface devices at the event. With Apple failing to deliver on a competitive professional computer, Microsoft has a real opportunity here. It has already won accolades for models like the Surface Studio and Surface Book 2 and with new Surface devices, the company could take things a step further.
