Microsoft’s chief of Windows Phone division, Joe Belfiore, announced on Twitter today that Windows Phone Marketplace now has over 1,000 apps that have been optimized for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update. Microsoft started accepting apps for Mango just over a month ago. The number might sound miniscule but is impressive considering the fact that the first Windows Phone 7.5 devices are yet to be released in markets globally. The real push, we believe, will happen when Nokia launches its Windows Phone smartphones, the announcement for which is expected to take place in the latter half of October.
