Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17755 (RS5) to Windows Insiders with the ability to send text from your PC using ‘Your Phone’ app. The feature was first announced in May 2018 with ‘Your Phone’ going public, but unfortunately the first beta release of the app didn’t include the SMS integration.

The company on its official blog notes that the feature is still in the early build stage, and is only available for ‘Your Phone’ Android app users under Windows 10 Insider Preview program. The app is compatible with Android 7.0+ devices. For PCs tied to the China region, the Your Phone app services will be enabled in the future, says Microsoft.

“Your Phone app is also live for Insiders who are in Skip Ahead running 19H1 builds. You must link your Android phone to your computer through Your Phone app. You will receive an app from Microsoft, which you must download to your mobile phone and follow the setup prompts,” notes blog.

With Your Phone app on Android, users Windows 10 Insider Preview program on their PC will get the instant access to most recent photos and texts from your smartphone. The app allows you to view, send, and receive the SMS from your Android smartphone using your Windows 10 PC. The app also lets you sync pictures clicked from your phone to PC.

Interestingly, Microsoft has removed the preview build watermark at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop, although it is noted that it does not mean this is the final build. The company has started checking the final code, but there is no mention of when the final release will come.
