Microsoft has deployed a new update to select Windows 10 devices with reliability improvements to Windows Update Service components. The updated version of KB4023057 for Windows 10 replaces the previously released update 4022868. Microsoft says that the update us meant for certain builds of Windows 10, versions 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703, and 1709 (Fall Creators Update). The devices running those select builds will automatically get the update downloaded and installed through Windows Update. The update is not offered through the Microsoft Update Catalog, it’ll be shared directly to Windows Update Client for some devices that have not installed the most recent updates, according to Microsoft blog (via Windowslatest).
The updated version of KB4023057 for Windows 10 includes reliability improvements to Windows Update Service components, which essentially means it’ll fix the issues that affect the update processes in Windows 10 which may prevent important Windows updates from being installed.
“This update includes files and resources that address issues that affect the update processes in Windows 10 that may prevent important Windows updates from being installed. These improvements help make sure that updates are installed seamlessly on your device, and they help improve the reliability and security of devices that are running Windows 10,” noted Microsoft blog.

The update may need enough space to install, so Microsoft has suggested to free up disk space on your device before updating as the update otherwise includes steps to free up disk space in the process.
