Less than six months after launching the Xbox One in India, Microsoft has slashed the prices of its last generation gaming console. The company announced that it will be selling the 4GB variant of Xbox 360 for Rs 12,990 and Xbox 360 with Kinect with the same storage for Rs 21,990. The console with revised price is now available for purchase through ecommerce site Amazon India. The company has announced that the price drop is permanent, and not just a part of a promotional offer.In addition to the 4GB variant, the 250GB variant with Kinect is also getting a price drop. It is now available for purchase for Rs 29,990. Microsoft has also launched a new Xbox 360 variant with 500GB storage, priced at Rs 19,990. This is the second price drop for Xbox 360 console in India in the past one year. Last year, the price of Xbox 360 with 250GB was dropped from Rs 24,990 to Rs 21,990 while the Kinect version received a price revision from Rs 34,890 to Rs 31,990. The company, however, hadn t dropped the price of 4GB variant of 360 then. The Xbox 360 was launched in India in September 2006, with the basic variant priced at Rs 23,990 price tag for the basic variant.
The Xbox One, on the other hand, launched in India back in September last year. In comparison, the Xbox One bundle without Kinect is priced at Rs 39,990, whereas the Xbox One with Kinect motion detection system will set you back by Rs 45,990.
