The website of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reportedly been hacked. According to a report by ANI, few minutes ago, the homepage of the website was displaying a Chinese character. At the time of writing the story, however, the website seems to have been temporarily taken down. Also Read - Beware! In the latest development Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has tweeted that “appropriate action” had been initiated in the matter. She says that the website will be restored shortly.
Ministry of Defence is yet to comment anything on the apparent hack. It is also not clear who is behind the attack. Although, many media reports claim that the Chinese character must be indicative of someone associated with the language. However, no such claims have been proven till now.
