Just yesterday, India s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officially launched the MEAIndia app for Android and iOS smartphones. The app that virtually gives you access to any of the departments under MEA, is already a hit among users and at the time of writing is topping the free category chart on Apple s App Store. The app has been well received and the average user ratings are 4.5 on the Play Store and a perfect 5 on the App Store. For those who missed out on the story yesterday, MEAIndia is described as a one-stop-shop to get all kinds of information like the latest news from all the 124 Indian missions in the world, consular access when abroad, bookings for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra or the Haj Pilgrimage and much more.
The app also offers passport related services. Though you can only track the status of your passport application, MEA has promised that in the coming months the app will be able to accept applications for passport renewals or new passports.
