Over the past year, the wearable space has seen a growing interest in India, especially in the fitness category. The trend was first started by Xiaomi, when it launched its ridiculously cheap Mi Band for Rs 999. The next was Micromax-backed Yu when it announced YuFit fitness tracker with OLED display. Misfit, the popular wearables company is holding an event in Bangalore on September 10, where it is expected to launch its fitness products in India, ConnectedArena reports. Sonny Vu, the founder and CEO of the company is expected to present the keynote at the launch event.
At present, the company has six major fitness products in its line-up. The Misfit Shine is a premium fitness and sleep activity tracker. Made from aircraft-grade anodized aluminium, the wearable device is pretty sturdy and elegant. The beauty of this fitness wearable is that you can wear it anywhere, on your wrist, slide it in your pocket, hook it onto your t-shirt or wear it as a pendant.
Speedo Shine is another device that was recently launched by the company. It is a one of its kind fitness device that is specially designed keeping swimmers in mind. The firmware on the device is embedded with proprietary lap counting algorithms to accurately track the swimmer s lap count.
Misfit Flash is the third wearable device from the company. It s a fully featured sleep and activity tracker that sells for under $30 (approximately Rs 1,950). It s available in trendy colour options, letting users pick the one based on their needs. Misfit Link is another easy-to-use activity tracker that comes with a smart button, which can be used to skip music, click photos and find your phone among other tasks. Misfit Beddit is the last wearable, a thin-film sleep monitor equipped with a sleep sensor and smart alarm. It offers accurate insights of your sleep activity.
Misfit Bolt is another product that s not a wearable, but a wireless color-changing light bulb that allows users to personalise the lighting in their room. It can be easily controlled using an app that is available for both Android and iOS devices.
As of now, there are no details on the price and what all products the wearables company plans to launch in India. It s just a couple of weeks, till we find out more when the event takes place on September 10.
