After Bing revealed its search trends for the year 2013, Facebook has followed suit by revealing the moments, people and places that were most talked about in India on the social media platform. In addition to getting married and engaged announcements, life events like traveled, moved, first met someone, had a baby and bought a car were talked about a lot in India this year. People like Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and RBI s Raghuram Rajan were most talked about people in India on Facebook, while the iPhone 5S and the Mangalyaan were the topics that dominated the conversations.
Facebook also recorded the most checked-in places in India and the Sukhdev Dhaba at Murthal came up top. It was followed by other places like Golden Temple in Amritsar, Connaught Place in New Delhi, Prasads IMAX in Hyderabad, Marine Drive in Mumbai and the Taj Mahal in Agra among others.
To come up with these results, Facebook collated the number of posts on a specific topic and then ranked those topics based on the overall number of mentions to create each list. One can also see one’s year in review by visiting Facebook s Year in Review page.
