Former White House intern during Bill Clinton’s reign, Monica Lewinsky, has stepped back into the spotlight by joining Twitter. Infamous for having an affair with the ex-President, Lewinsky joined Twitter in the early hours of Monday morning, and within the hour her account was verified. Lewinsky created her Twitter account hours before speaking at Forbes’ Under 30 Summit. The Twitter account is one of the ways she is using to get back into the public life. She recently penned an essay for Vanity Fair writing about her life after the affair with Bill Clinton became public. She tweeted about how excited and nervous she was before her speech.

In her first public speech in over 13 years, Lewinsky spoke about cyber-bullying and the power of the Internet to tarnish a person’s reputation. Referring to herself as “Patient Zero,” she said how she was the first person to have their reputation destroyed by the Internet.
After her speech, she put up another tweet thanking everyone.
