Besides a refresh to the popular Moto E series, Lenovo-backed Motorola is reportedly working on another budget series of smartphones, dubbed as Moto C. Ahead of an official announcement or launch, the smartphones have been subjected to multiple leaks in the last few weeks. Shortly after alleged renders of the Moto C were spotted, the smartphone has now been spotted on Bluetooth certification website. The listing gives away a few details, at least confirms the existence of the device. According to the listing, the smartphone bears the codename XT1750. The Bluetooth SIG certification reveals that the smartphone will offer Bluetooth 4.2 support. It will be powered by a MediaTek processor. Though the chipset version isn t specified. Collating leaks and rumors thus far, the Moto C series appears to be targeted at the entry-level segment. The Moto C is rumored to come with a 5-inch display with underwhelming 480 x 854 pixels resolutions. The MediaTek chipset under the hood is said to be a quad-core one coupled with 1GB of RAM. For photography, the Moto C is believed to sport a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera. A 2,300mAh battery is likely to power the smartphone. Connectivity options include 3G and 4G. One of the main highlights of the smartphone is expected to be Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
Besides the Moto C, there also have been rumors of a larger variant of the smartphone, dubbed as the Moto C Plus. The Plus variant is believed to have mostly the same set of the specifications though with some upgrades. For an example, the Moto C Plus is rumored to come with a 5-inch display with HD resolution. It is expected to be available in 1GB and 2GB of RAM variants along with common 16GB of onboard storage, expandable via microSD card.
The cameras also get an upgrade. On the rear, it is speculated to have an 8-megapixel camera. The main highlight of the smartphone is likely to be the 4,000mAh battery, which is said to deliver backup for more than one day.
Based on the recently leaked renders, the Moto C series will share the design language of the Moto G5 Plus with circular camera module with flash.
