Motorola has announced the launch of its latest smartphones in the Indian market, the Motorola Moto E5 Plus and the E5. The company has priced the E5 Plus at Rs. 11,999 and the E5 at Rs. 9,999. The E5 Plus will go on sale as an Amazon-exclusive starting from July 11 midnight (12:00 AM) and Moto Hubs across the country and Moto E5 will be available on Amazon and Moto Hubs. Moto E5 Plus is the successor to the Moto E4 Plus while the E5 is the successor to the E4.
Both device, the Moto E4 and the E4 Plus were launched at the same time almost a year back in the market. The company had launched the E4 Plus at a price of Rs 9,999 and the E4 for Rs 8,999 in the market. The company is planning to take the competition to the existing market rivals including Xiaomi, and Smartron in this segment. This device is meant for users who are on a limited budget and don’t want to spend as much to buy a Moto G series device. Motorola has already launched the E5 Plus and E5 in other markets.

Talking about the device, considering that it is the fifth generation of Moto E lineup, questions about what is different and new in this device in comparison to the older generation device are obvious to present themselves. We went through both the Moto E5 Plus and the E5 to check what is different in the devices when compared to the Moto E4 Plus and the Moto E4.
The primary difference between the Moto E5 and E5 Plus launched today and the Moto E4 and E4 Plus is the increase in screen size. According to the specifications, the Moto E5 Plus will come with a 6-inch screen and 18:9 aspect ratio in comparison to the 5.5-inch screen and the 16:9 aspect ratio on the E4 Plus.

Shift to Qualcomm
Motorola has made the shift the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with the E5 series. The Moto E5 Plus comes with Snapdragon 430 with Adreno 505 GPU while the Moto E5 comes with a Snapdragon 425 SoC with Adreno 308 GPU. The E5 Plus comes with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM and E5 comes with a 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. E4 Plus and E4 were powered by MediaTek MT6737 SoC and Mali-T720 GPU. Motorola has added a dedicated microSD card in both the devices so that users can expand the storage with a microSD card with up to 128GB storage capacity.
Battery size and camera changes
The E5 Plus comes with a 5,000mAh battery that is the same as in the Moto E4 Plus. Motorola increased the battery size to 4,000mAh in the E5 from the 2,800mAh in the E4. The battery on the E5 Plus comes with support for Motorola Rapid Charge technology. The company has moved the fingerprint scanner to the back of the device while upgrading the software to Android 8.0 Oreo instead of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
E5 Plus comes with 12-megapixel primary sensor with larger 1.2um pixel size from the 13-megapixel sensor on the E4 Plus while the E5 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor instead of an 8-megapixel sensor on the E4.
